Kristine Thoreson Fine Art Photography
Welcome and thank you for visiting. People often ask how I got started as a photographer, where I come from and what my inspiration has been. I grew up on the edge of Calgary and I specialize in contemporary landscape photography. Spending time outdoors and exploring the multitude of textures, forms and shadows in nature has been my passion for over fifteen years. I am a graduate of the Alberta College of Art and Design BFA program, and also hold an MFA in photography from the University of Calgary.
I love to work in black and white and to develop photographs using traditional darkroom processes. I have also recently incorporated digital processes and photo-collage into my art-work. I love to travel and always have at least one camera on hand, just in case! I have discovered wonderful places and people all over Canada, USA, England, Australia, Belgium, Holland, and most recently Norway.
My unique digital collages (on watercolour paper) and canvas (giclée) prints are printed at my home studio on archival fine art materials.
